Police seek witnesses after life-threatening glass attack on woman

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman required life saving treatment in hospital after being struck in the face with a glass outside a Warrington bar during the early hours of yesterday (Sunday).
The assault occurred at around 01:20hrs on July 13 when the woman was talking to a man at Cromwells pub on Bridge Street when she was struck in the face by another woman in what appears to have been an unprovoked attack.
It is believed the offender used a glass to hit the victim leaving a deep wound in her face.
Door staff at the pub managed to detain a woman who was arrested and subsequently bailed whilst investigations continue.
Officers were concerned about the seriousness of the victim’s injuries and decided to take her to hospital where she received life-saving medical attention.
