Wolves condemn Broncos to relegation

WARRINGTON Wolves condemned London Broncos to relegation with a 72-12 mauling at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
It was a 10th successive victory for Tony Smith’s men, and they ran in 13 tries against the hapless Broncos, who have lost all 20 of their games in Super League this season.
Winger Joel Monaghan crossed for four tries and there were also hat-tricks for forwards Ben Currie and Chris Hill.
The returning Paul Wood, Gene Ormsby and Ben Harrison also got on the scoresheet, with Chris Bridge tagging on 10 conversions.
It took eight minutes before Monaghan opened the scoring, and he added a second on 13, both unconverted to put the Wolves 8-0 in front.
London, who have at least steadily improved throughout the season, were competitive in the early stages, and reduced arrears to two when youngster Joe Keyes scored a converted try.
But their resolve was broken in a clinical 10 minute spell where the Wolves crossed four times.
Hill grabbed his first under the posts, before a quickfire double from Currie.
Monaghan then claimed his hat-trick on 32 minutes, as the hosts went in at half time 32-6 to the good.
A Bridge kick set the Wolves on their way to their first score of the second half, finishing off by Currie on 45 minutes, although the Broncos did manage to break the run of scoring with a try of their own through Scott Moore for 38-12.
Another deadly 10 minute spell in the middle of the second half saw four tries scored by Warrington through Wood, Ormsby, Hill and Monaghan.
Harrison added another try shortly before the end, and then with the hooter imminent, Hill crossed for his hat-trick.
