MEMBERS of Stockton Heath Parish Council voted to send their thanks to the Friends of Alexandra Park for their support in maintaining standards in the park.
The volunteer group have spent many hours weeding and cultivating the borders and, as a result the park is looking at its best.
A council spokesperson said: “The park is a credit to the volunteers – particularly at a time when costs are being cut.”
