A CHILDREN’S nursery was evacuated at Warrington after fire broke out in the building.
The blaze was at a nursery in Manchester Road and involved a cooker in the kitchen.
Two fire engines from Warrington Fire Station were called to the scene and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
A ventilation unit was then used to clear smoke from the building.
There were no reports of anyone being hurt.
Earlier, firefighters from Stockton Heath Fire Station, assisted by an animal rescue unit from Knutsford Fire Station, were called to a field off Warrington Road, Lymm, where a horse had become trapped in mud.
A vet sedated the frightened animal – named Nymph – and crews then used straps and dug around the horse to get it out. The animal did not appear to have been seriously harmed.
