FOUR men have appeared in court after police executed two drugs warrants in Warrington as part of Operation ImpACT, sending out a clear message to offenders that crime doesn?t pay.
The first warrant was executed at an address on Unsworth Court, Padgate, last Thursday (June 26) when three men, all from the Merseyside area, were arrested at the scene. Officers seized approximately £600 cash along with a significant amount of class A drugs from the property.
Grant McDonald, 22, Ian Helm, 23, and Jamie Watts-Weston, 18, have all been charged with being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
McDonald and Helm both appeared at Halton Magistrate Court today, (July 1), and were remanded in custody. Watts-Weston appeared in court on June 28 and has been released on conditional bail. They are all due to appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday July 7.
The second warrant was executed last Friday (June 27) at an address on Oldham Street, Latchford. On entering the address officers discovered over £1400 worth of heroin and crack cocaine. A 39-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
Anthony James Ford appeared at North Cheshire Magistrates last Friday (June 27) charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Runcorn Magistrates Court on Monday (July 7).
DCI Paul Beauchamp said “Operation ImpACT makes clear the commitment that the police and partner agencies have to targeting those people that undermine our communities and bring misery to residents through their involvement in the illegal use and supply of controlled drugs.
“The dedication of the staff involved in the operation has been outstanding and I would like to assure the public across Warrington and Halton that the police and our partners will always look to act on the information provided to us.
“The corrosive effect that drug abuse and associated criminality has on our communities is well known, and we are committed to tackling the problem and targeting those involved.
“Information from members of the public is vital in the fight against drug related crime. We would urge anyone with any information in relation to drug use and supply in Warrington to get in touch on 101.”
