Grappers through to quarter finals

GRAPPENHALL are through to the quarter finals of the Vivio Cheshire County League Twenty20 competition after defeating Urmston at Broad Lane.
Skipper for-the-day Adam Roylance won the toss and chose to field first.
The visitors were positive from the start and despite losing wickets maintained momentum. A total of 140 looked on the cards, but Roylance marshalled his troops superbly and with good out cricket restricted them to 125-6 on a good batting wicket.
Grappenhall’s reply started well but at 63-3 after nine overs there was still work to be done.
In form Ian Barnes was dropped first ball and then took the game away from Urmston, hitting a swift 30 not out, with good support from Josh McClelland, 20 not out to enable Grappers to win by five wickets.
Grappenhall will meet Sale in the quarter finals in another home fixture.
