Lymm Festival hailed a wonderful success

AN estimated 6,000 people were watching as two vintage World War Two biplanes circled in the skies over Lymm’s Transport Day on Sunday as the climax to a highly successful Festival which saw nearly three thousand tickets sold for a whole range of events spread over ten days.
There were record breaking on-line sales.
Festival Chairman Cllr. Ian Marks was full of praise for all. “We had a great Festival and I would like to thank our sponsors, volunteers, committee members and the public who have supported us in such large numbers.”
Meanwhile Cllr. Marks added an appeal for more volunteers to come forward.
“As the Festival grows we will need more helpers and it is great fun to be involved.”
It was a truly international event with one on-line booking coming from Long Beach, California. From the Foodfest at the start, to the hugely successful Transport Day at the end, (organised by Alan Williams) the level of interest was very high. Most events reported excellent attendances including eighty people turning up for the Choral Evensong at St Peter’s Church.
Festival organisers are now planning a series of Winter Warmer events and the Festival Committee is looking to recruit someone to co-ordinate marketing and publicity for the Winter Warmers and next year’s Festival.
This person would be responsible for organising the promotion of the Festival.
He /she would be supported by other Committee members in delivering this promotional programme – buying in additional services if necessary.
If you are interested in this vital position, please contact Ian Marks at [email protected] or ring him on 01925 753051.
