MORE than 1,000 children from primary schools across Warrington will take part in a celebration of the Commonwealth Games at Orford Park on Thursday.
The event, organised by the Warrington School Sports Partnership, will involve youngsters representing the various schools competing in seven different sports.
Each school will represent a Commonwealth country.
There will also be a cultural element to the day, with a parade at 10am, followed by an opening ceremony with a stage performance by Westbrook Old Hall Primary School.
Other schools will also give presentations from the stage.
The seven sports on show will be cycling, orienteering, tennis, archery, football, golf and athletics.
Students from Priestley College will act as volunteer marshals.
