STEVE Reddy (pictured), operational director for adult social care services with Warrington Borough Council has been appointed executive director for the families and wellbeing directorate.
He will step up to his new post in August after working at Warrington for almost four years.
Previously he held a number of senior management roles within Liverpool City Council and Merseyside Police.
He said: “Taking on the executive director role is a significant challenge – one that I am incredibly proud to be asked to do and really looking forward to. I have the support of a great staff team in the families and wellbeing directorate and across the wider council, and have great support from our elected members.
“Since joining Warrington I have always been struck by how proud everyone is of the town and how committed everyone involved with the council is to ensuring they do the best they possibly can for the people of Warrington.
“What is also clear is that people here are not passive recipients of services and those we support, their families, carers and wider communities, are very keen to develop ideas and solutions ‘together’ and ensure they can influence and take control of their future.
“In addition to a fantastic staff team in the council I have also worked with some great people across our key partners, and in the face of some real challenges ahead – the strength of the partnerships, and very positive relationships, is one the key factors that will ensure we continue to deliver the best possible services together.”
Cllr Terry O’Neill, leader of the council, said: “We are delighted to announce this appointment and are very pleased to welcome Steve onto our senior management team. His in-depth skills and experience will help us deliver our far reaching ambitions for the town and drive forward our agenda for our families and well-being services.
“These services are all about protecting and supporting residents in a wide variety of ways including through education, social care and health services and we look forward to working with Steve as we continue to put the people of Warrington first enabling them to thrive now and in the future.”
