WARRINGTON Wolves continued their good run of form with a 4-34 victory at Hull KR to record their fifth consecutive league victory.
On a night when Chris Hill took on the captaincy in the absence of suspended Bennie Westwood and the injured Michael Monaghan, the game remained pointless for the first 30 minutes – with Warrington striking three times in quick succession to lead 0-18 at the break.
Young winger Gene Ormsby broke the deadlock touching down in the corner after Ryan Atkins was held just short, with Chris Bridge landing the conversion from wide out.
Four minutes later a great break by Simon Grix sent Stefan Ratchord under the posts, with Bridge adding tghe extras to make it 0-12.
Then two minutes from the break Joel Monaghan managed to force his way over despite the attentions of the defence, with Bridge again on target.
The hosts briefly rallied on 57 minutes through Graham Horne after repeat penalties. Rovers came close again but the Warrington defence held firm.
Young forward Ben Evans ensured the game was save when he strolled under the posts unopposed on 69 minutes, with Bridge adding the extras to make it 4-24.
Three minute later Evans was over for his second after a strong run from Ben Currie. Bridge was wide with the conversion but the game was safe at 4-28.
Two minutes from time Monaghan raced in for his second from 20 metres and Bridge was again on target to complete the scoring on an evening when young academy starlet Joe Philbin came off the bench to make his first team debut.
