COMMUNITY heroes were treated to star status when they officially opened the new Co-operative Food store at The Bridges, Latchford, Warrington which has relaunched following a £430,000 transformation.
Local PCSO Tony Spruce; regular customer, Jean Goss; and pupils from Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School, joined Warrington Wolves RLFC’s mascot, Wolfie, and also Warrington Town FC’s mascot, Ollie the Owl, to help cut the ribbon with store manager Mike Mather.
The store on Knutsford Road has been redefined, with a completely new look, including an enhanced bakery, and will offer delicious food conveniently as a great place to pick up everything shoppers need to create inspirational meals at home.
With a focus on meal ideas, essentials and healthy, fresh foods, the store will make it easy and enjoyable for shoppers to pick up all the ingredients necessary to produce fantastic food with ideas and tips on every aisle.
The store will also be a hub of the community, with a calendar board listing local events, and information about how groups can benefit from The Co-operative Membership’s Community Fund, which distributes monies to support local good causes.
Mike Mather said: “I’m excited about welcoming customers into the new-look store, which will offer a completely different shopping experience. We know our customers lead busy professional and personal lives, and I’m confident that the new store will provide them with exactly what they need to pick up delicious food conveniently.
“The Co-operative is a community retailer and we are committed to playing a real role in local life. I’m delighted to welcome everyone into the store to share in our special day.”
