Temporary classroom approved

PLANNING chiefs have approved the installation of a temporary modular classroom unit at Beamont Primary School, Warrington.
The unit – which will occupy part of an existing play area – is to be used to accommodate displaced pre-school children who currently share space in the primary school.
Members of Warrington’s planning committee were told although the temporary classroom would reduce the amount of play space, it was occupy an area where there is currently a timber canopy structure. There would still be adequate play space retained.
It was not believed the development would cause any significant harm to the amenity of nearby homes, although there would be some harm to the street scene. However a balance had to be struck in providing adequate facilities for the children.
