Time capsule for new scout and guide centre

A TIME capsule is to be buried under the new Scout and Guide headquarters currently being built in Pepper Street, Lymm.
It will contain details of the history of Scouting and Guiding in Lymm, the names of people who supported the “buy a brick” campaign which helped fund construction of the building, some notes on the origin of the previous buildings, now demolished, some current coins and various items designed to show future generations how things have been done so far.
When the building is completed, a plaque will be mounted on an interior wall detailing the location of the capsule so that it can be recovered at some time in the future.
From the start, the new building has been designed to allow wider community use in addition to Scouting and Guiding and any other groups who may be interested in using it are invited to contact the 3rd Lymm Scout Group or Lymm and District Guides for details.
Progress on building the new headquarters is continuing to schedule.
Pictured are Scout Group chairman Paul Fuller and Steering Group chairman Derrick Clarke, together with Scouts and Guides, with the time capsule.
