FOLLOWING on from the success of previous events Warrington Service Centre is again inviting local people to a series of free evening motoring courses designed to teach them the basics about their cars.
Garage owner, Raf Khan, has arranged a series of two-hour training sessions to teach everyone people of all ages and levels of experience about the general rules of car maintenance from checking oil and water levels to changing tyres.
The garage, which has been trading for over 15 years, is part of a network of over 730 independent Unipart Car Care Centres across the UK, which offers a unique nationwide guarantee and signs up to a customer service pledge.
Their next free session will be held on Wednesday, June 11 at the garage on Church Street. Anyone interested in signing up for the classes should call 01925 23 22 55 or register online at http://wscbasicrulesjune14.eventbrite.co.uk
Raf said: “We have started these motoring courses to help motorists feel more comfortable about carrying out regular vehicle checks at home. Many people travel long distances for work and this course is designed to help them understand what they can be doing in between services to maintain their cars.
Another aim is to give people the confidence to know a bit more about the type of mechanical work they might be billed for after a car service. Our team of technicians will be available to answer any questions and to teach motorists about what mechanical work is essential and what is not. There is a very important safety message associated with this as more and more people will be tempted to ignore repair work until the last minute in order to save money.”
Local mum Leanne Graham attended the second course back in January. She said: “The course provided me with valuable information on maintaining my car and I would now have the confidence to have a go at changing a wheel etc which I would never have attempted before the course.”
