LIVE music, fairground rides, family activities and craft stalls – they are all part of Warrington’s Orford Park Festival which takes place on Sunday June 8.
This year the festival has teamed up with leisure group LiveWire, whose headquarters are in Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub and will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of World War One with a themed community fancy dress walk around the park.
There will be a WW1 style tea room, local history groups and a family zone with war themed arts and craft activities taking place throughout the afternoon.
As in previous years there will also be community stalls, fairground rides, a dog show, sports activities and the addition of more than 40 craft, gift and food stalls.
The event takes place from 1pm until 5pm and includes performances from local bands who will be playing throughout the day, courtesy of Warrington Youth Service.
Jan Souness, LiveWire’s managing director said: “We are really excited that LiveWire are able to get involved with this annual event and expand on the great work that the Orford community has contributed over the last few years. We want to encourage families from all over Warrington to come down and join in this year’s festival extravaganza.”
Deputy leader of the borough council, Mike Hannon, said: “It has been great to team up with LiveWire and push the Orford Park Festival to be the biggest and best so far.
“We have not forgotten the roots of the festival though and will have all Orford’s community groups and stalls alongside new additions, live music stage and family zone.”
