Chapelford man pushes himself to the limit

CHAPELFORD man Danny Cleaton has successfully completed the world’s largest assault course and raised almost £400 for Habitat for Humanity.
A marketing manager at Speedy Services, Danny formed part of the 10-strong Speedy team, The Filthy Animals, and pushed himself through the pain barrier by taking on the Rat Race Dirty Weekend in Burghley on 10th and 11th May, a gruelling 20-mile course with over 200 obstacles.
Danny said: “The Rat Race certainly isn’t for the faint hearted. We had to climb over 12 foot walls, swim across freezing cold rivers and go through underwater tunnels – all while fighting through the mud, rain and even blasts of fire.
“For some of the team it was very physically challenging and for others it was mentally. But the blood sweat and tears were all worth it to raise vital funds for one of Speedy’s nominated charities.”
Habitat for Humanity is an international charity that aims to break the cycle of poverty by eliminating poverty housing and homelessness.
