War medals may have been stolen

A COLLECTION of war medals, believed to have been stolen, have been recovered by police in the Warrington area.
The medals and badges are believed to be from World War 1 and World War 2 and some bear inscriptions which means they can be identified.
Police are anxious to restore them to their rightful owner.
PC Alison Edwards said: “We are really keen to re-unite these medals with their owners. These will be of great sentimental value to someone and we can identify the owner easily due to the engravings on the backs of some of the medals.”
Anyone who recognises the medals, or believes they know who they belong to, is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 and ask for PC Edwards or DC Reeves at Warrington Pro-active CID.
