Central to the commemoration was a parade by a number of local uniformed organisations including the Scouts and the ATC.
Meanwhile the theme of this year’s Community Day was Ancient Egypt, featuring an Egyptian Temple which appeared on the village green featuring performances from a travelling show to entertain young and old alike incorporating fire, magic and mystery.
There was also be the usual favourites including Trumble the clown, Tyldesley Brass Band; fairground rides; a pet show; a cake baking competition and the veteran car/motorcycle and tractor display.
The event was organised by Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council and gave local organisations a chance to promote themselves and raise funds.
