YOUNG people in Warrington have been invited to question the town’s key decision makers at a special event next Wednesday.
The “Youth Challenge” event in Time Square will give youngsters the chance to question a wide range of professionals over the progress made so far on Warrington’s youth strategy.
All schools have been invited and pupils are being encouraged to attend and have a say on issues that affect them.
Partner agencies across Warrington have been putting the strategy into action over the past few years.
Fiona Waddington, the borough council’s assistant director for children and young people’s targeted services, said: “The youth strategy was launched in 2012 and set out to improve services, activities, and access to facilities for young people such as gaining employment, access to drug
and alcohol advice, transport and independent living.
“This is a great opportunity for young people to help shape the services we provide for them and their input is extremely valuable if we are to continue to support the next generation by providing them with skills, training and opportunities to allow them to fulfil their dreams and aspirations.”
The Youth Challenge will start from 4pm in Time Square. Refreshments, activities and information stalls will be available and attendees will be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 shopping voucher.
