Leicester Street survey planned

RESIDENTS of Leicester Street in Whitecross are to be consulted about the future of their neighbourhood, defined as amongst the top 10% most deprived areas in the country.
The consultation is being conducted by Warrington Borough Council and Golden Gates Housing Trust, and a door-to-door survey will take place on Thursday May 8 between 1230 and 1500. The survey will also be available online from May 8 for two weeks.
The council’s executive board member for leisure, community and culture, Cllr Kate Hannon, said: “The council wants to find out what local people would like to see in their area and what support they would like.
“We will be asking what people like about the area, what they want to improve, whether they think there needs to be more for older people, for families, for children or teenagers and so on.
“We’ll also be asking if people need help finding employment or training, in order to inform our services in this area, as it is a key local priority.”
Leicester Street is part of Whitecross, and is in what’s known as a “closing the gap” area. These are areas defined as being amongst the top 10% most deprived areas in the country, which makes the area a priority for council support.
