THE search is on to find Warrington’s next members of youth parliament.
Members of youth parliament represent the 20,000 young people in the borough on a local and national level and are involved in making real decisions for the town.
A pre-election event is being held on Wednesday 30 April at the Youth Café in Times Square, from 6-8pm, where potential candidates can find out more about the role of a youth MP and how to stand in the UK Youth Parliament elections.
They must prepare a two minute speech about why they want to be involved and represent Warrington’s young people. From this event eight young people will be chosen to stand as official candidates.
The event is open to any young person aged 13 – 18 who lives or goes to school or college in Warrington.
The UK Youth Parliament elections will take place from the 2 – 5 June and results will be announced at the town hall on Friday 6 June.
For more information on the elections which will take place in schools and colleges across the borough contact [email protected] or visit www.warrington.gov.uk and search for youth parliament.
