Driver's escape in dramatic car crash

A CAR careered off the road at Warrington, demolished a road sign and ended up facing in the opposite direction, on its side and suspended in a hedge.
The woman driver had an amazing escape from injury in the crash on Enfield Park Road, Fearnhead, near the junction with Stirrup Close.
No other vehicle was involved in the incident
These pictures were taken by local councillor Geoff Settle on his way to a meeting of Fearnhead Parish Council last night.
He said: “It was the second car crash in my ward in two days.
“The first one was on Easter Monday on Viscount Road, at the junction with Avery Close.
“Again, the driver had a lucky escape.
“Local residents have been campaigning for action here for some time as some drivers treat the road as a racing chicane.
“They are unaware that young children cross at this point to get to a popular play area.
“In fact, on the morning of the Easter Monday incident a man was taking his two sons, aged five and 18 months, to that very place.
“If they had set off from home one minute earlier I dread to think what might have happened.”
As reported by Warrington-Worldwide last month, Cllr Settle has been campaigning on traffic issues in the area for some time.
He said: “These crashes show there is unfinished business to complete.”
