A 16-year-old Culcheth girl is to travel to Madagascar next year to do a month’s charity work.
But first, Sinead Wright, a student at Winstanley College, has to raise £4,550 to go on the trip with World Challenge and has embarked on a programme of fundraising events.
She has already completed a half marathon earlier this year and is now organising a soul and Motown night at Culcheth’s Village Club on June 21 at 7.30pm.
The event is being supported by Courtyard property consultants and will feature soul sensation Miguel and professional DJs. Tickets cost £7 and can be obtained by emailing [email protected]
Sinead is a keen runner and has also played netball for Warrington for about five years.
She said: “I hope to go to university to study medicine as my subjects at AS are currently biology, chemistry, Spanish and history.
“But at the moment I am concentrating on fundraising for World Challenge.”
