A Walk in the Park next month

WARRINGTON Disability Partnership are holding “A Walk int he Park” to raise money for a local school, youth group or charity of your choice.
It will be held on Sunday May 11, starting and ending at WDP’s Centre for Independent Living on Beaufort Street, and gives the opportunity to raise funds through sponsorship, or instead paying the set registration fee of £5.
The walk is fully accessible and open to everyone, and the choice is yours as to whether you wish to walk, run, use a bike, a wheelchair or a scooter.
The circuit will take you round Sankey Valley Park, covering a total distance of three miles.
The event will be held from 10am to 4pm and Peter Carey, Mayor of Warrington, will be in attendance to offer support to those taking part.
All participants will receive a medal and certificate for their efforts – and all fundsraised on the day (apart from any sponsorship raised for individual groups) willgo towards supporting the work of WDP.
As well as the walk, a variety of stalls will be serving refreshments – including a BBQ and cakes – and there will be a whole host of activities for families to enjoy such as hook a duck and an inflatable rugby pitch (courtesy of the Wolves Foundation).
