Bake-off competiton for school

PUPILS of Thelwall Junior School had to put their baking skills to the test when the Parent-Teacher Association ran a “bake-off” competition.
Bakery of various varieties were entered, including breads, scones, decorated sponges, cake pops and muffins.
PTA member Suzanne Exley said: “The amount of time and effort used to produce the bakes resulted in some amazing entries, which left everybody inspired to get their own wooden spoons out!
“It was a fabulous fund raising event which had everybody smiling. Well done to everybody and keep up the baking!
After judging, the cakes were sold off at a coffee afternoon held for the children’s family and friends, during which prizes were given to class winners and the overall school winner.
The event raised an amazing £222.42 to go towards the school council’s recommendations to purchase new outdoor play equipment.
