Have your say on Paddington Meadows, Woolston New Cut Canal and Ecology Park

0

A group of local people with an interest in the history and wildlife of the Woolston New Cut Canal, Paddington Meadows and the Ecology Park off Manchester Road, Woolston, Warrington, are seeking the views of people who use the area.
The purpose of the survey is to find out what’s important to visitors and if they would like to see any changes to the how the area is managed.
The location of the Trail is the towpath of the disused New Cut Canal, from Paddington Bank up past Paddington Meadows, where the Cheshire Wildlife Trust have the rare Long horn cattle, up to and including the new £1.3m ecology park section with reclaimed and cleaned canal water stretch, up past Grey Mist mere and ending by Woolston Weir.
A planned hydro electric scheme with fish/eel ladder will commence construction at the weir in December and will add further interest in the area.
Discussions have already started with local schools.
