A STUNNING second half fight back saw Warrington Wolves topple
Huddersfield Giants 14-33 after they had trailed 14-4 at the break!
With the scoreline level 14-14 heading into the final 10 minutes Warrington ran in three late tries to secure a memorable victory which looked a distant dream in the first half.
The hosts took the lead after eight minutes as Scott Grix latched onto a break by Chan with Danny Brough adding the extras to make it 6-0.
Brough added a penalty on 29 minutes but Warrington eventually got on the scoresheet on 33 minutes when Rhys Evans broke through to score but Ratchford pulled the conversion wide making it 8-4.
But within three minutes the Giants were back in control as Brough broke sclear with Broughton in support to score under the posts, with Brough adding the simple conversion to make it 14-4 at the break – and the Giants in control.
After the re-start Broughton came close to adding a second but was tackled just in time.
Momentum started to swing Warrington’s way as Richie Myler (pictured right) finished off a move to score and Ratchford added the extras making it 14-10.
Warrington started to take control the game and were rewarded on 63 minutes when Ben Westwood (pictured top) powered over, although Ratchford couldn’t add the extras leaving the scores level at 14-14.
But on 70 minutes Warrington took the lead for the first time as Matty Russell broke away to score with Chris Bridge landing the conversion to make it 14-20. Three minutes later Ratchford landed a drop goal and then from the kick off expansive play saw Gene Ormsby go over on the left with Bridge again on target making it 14-27.
Then with two minutes remaining Joel Monaghan evaded the Giants defence to touchdown with Bridge again on target completing a fine fightback for the Wolves.
