School stars open new store

LOCAL school children were given star status when they officially opened the Co-operative food store at Lymm when it re-launched after a £636,000 transformation.
Pupils from Cherry Tree Primary School – just around the corner from the store – helped cut the ribbon with store manager Dale Woods.
The new-look state-of-the-art store is focussing on meal ideas, healthy, fresh foods and essentials.
It has been redesigned to make it easy and enjoyable for shoppers to pick up all the ingredients necessary to produce fantastic food, with ideas and tips on every aisle.
The store also aims to be a hub for the community, with a calendar board listing local events, and information about how groups can benefit from The Co-operative Membership’s Community Fund, which distributes monies to support local good causes.
Dale Woods said: “I’m excited about welcoming customers into the new Lymm store as local residents are passionate about food, and the new shopping experience has been tailored to really take this into account and provide our customers with everything they need to create inspirational and tasty meals.
“My dedicated and knowledgeable store team will be on hand to help them and make recommendations so it is easy for them to pick up delicious food conveniently.
“As a co-operative, our staff and members play an active role in the areas in which we trade, and the new store will embrace Lymm’s fantastic community spirit. Customers will be able to find out what is going on locally, list their own events on a new calendar board and find out more
about how The Co-operative’s Community Fund can benefit local groups.”
