IF you know a sporting star, make sure you nominate them for the Warrington Sports Awards.
It has been revealed the winner this year will get a small amount of money to be used in future sports development.
Nominations close on Friday 11 April and the ceremony will take place on Wednesday 30 April at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub. The annual awards recognise and celebrate the sporting achievements of local schools, clubs and residents.
Local sporting partners including LiveWire, Decathlon, Warrington Disability Partnership, Warrington Wolves Foundation and Warrington Town FC have all been announced as sponsors for the event.
Cllr Kate Hannon, executive board member for leisure, community and culture, said: “It’s great to see local organisations getting behind the event. There is a fantastic sporting community in Warrington and we want to recognise the individuals and clubs who make that happen.”
Application forms to nominate can be requested from the council’s Active Warrington team: email [email protected] or telephone 01925 248458.
