A MINUTE’S silence will take place in Bridge Street this Thursday (March 20) to mark the 21st anniversary of the IRA Warrington bombing which killed 12-year-old Tim Parry and three-year-old Johnathan Ball and injurying 54 others and affecting many more.
The Mayor of Warrington Councillor Peter Carey, representatives of the council and the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace will meet
at 12:15 at the River of Life and Bridge Street memorial to pay their respects, lay flowers and participate in a minutes silence and reflection at 12:27. Water will be taken from the River of Life fountain and transported back to the Peace Centre and at a private ceremony will be poured on the Peace Tree that grows in the grounds of the Peace Centre.
This will symbolise a collective hope for a peaceful future and for the continued work taking place in Warrington to lead in reconciliation.
Members of the local community who are in the Bridge Street area on that day are welcome to join the moment’s silence and reflection.
