Rugby legends inducted into Hall of Fame

TWO more Warrington rugby league legends have been inducted into the Past Player’s Hall of fame.
Forwards Mike Nicholas and Bob Eccles were inducted into Warrington RLFC Past players Hall of Fame at the Annual Past Players Lunch held in ther Martin Dawes Stand at The Halliwell-Jones Stadium.
Nicholas was a member of the Warrington Wembley teams in 1973-74 and 74-75 and coach or team manager of the Wales Rugby League team since the 1980s.
He is currently President of Wales Rugby League. He played club level rugby union for Aberavon. In rugby league he played for Warrington and the Cardiff Blue Dragons, and at representative Rugby League level for Wales and Great Britain, playing as a Front Row forward or Second Row.
Eccles is second in Warrington’s “Most Tries In a Season” list with 37-tries scored in the 1982–83 season only bettered by the legendary Brian Bevan. Ten years later he topped the try scoring at Barrow RLFC with 20 Tries and he also equalled Warrington’s “Most Tries In a Match” for a Forward record with 5-tries scored in the 36-15 victory over Blackpool Borough on Sunday 12 December 1982.
He finished his career at Warrington with 119 tries over a nine year stay.
