Borough's youngest elected councillor

A 20-year-old has become Warrington’s youngest elected representative.
Andrew Hill polled 258 votes to win a by-election for a west ward seat on Woolston Parish Council for Labour.
After the result was declared he said: “I am very grateful to everyone who supported me during this election campaign, and I would like to
thank those who have put their trust in me.
“I will work hard for residents in Woolston West and continue to champion our community on the parish council.”
A spokesperson for Warrington North Labour Party said: “We are delighted by Andrew’s election to Woolston Parish Council. Aged just 20, he is the youngest
elected representative in the town, and will bring new blood and fresh enthusiasm to the role.
“Local people supported a local man who will speak up for the community.”
Full result was: Andrew Hill (Labour) 258; Andrew Leah (King’s Leadership Academy Supporter) 121; Geoffrey Siddall (UKIP) 98.
There was a 22.81 per cent turnout.
In another by-election, for a vacant seat in Appleton Parish Council’s Cobbs Ward, former Liberal Democrat borough councillor Judith Wheeler romped home with 436 votes.
Full result was: Judith Wheeler (Lib Dem) 436; Paul Carter (Labour) 138; Jonathan Levy (Conservative) 87.
There was a 26 per cent turnout.
