Family threesome in puppet musical

THREE members of a Warrington family who have been performing on stage since an early age are to appear together for the first time.
Sarah Dunn, her brother Andrew and his wife, Kirsten Dunn will all appear in the Frodsham-based Zodiac Operatic Society’s production of “Avenue Q” at the Brindley Theatre, Runcorn on April 1-5.
The Zodiac are one of the first society’s in the country to be given the right to perform the award-winning musical, which features puppets as well as human characters.
New mum Sarah, from Stockton Heath, said: “This has certainly been a new challenge for us all. It’s not your traditional type of musical. In addition to learning lines and songs, we have also had to master puppetry skills, which is no easy feat. It’s often been like rubbing your
tummy and patting your head at the same time!”
Her brother Andy and his wife Kirsten, from Bewsey, have been practicing their lines and puppetry skills at home in front of their one-year-old daughter Jasmine who hasn’t been quite sure what to make of them when they are in character.
The show is far removed from the traditional musical like “Oklahoma” and “Guys and Dolls” which the Zodiac have staged in the past.
