WOMEN keen to learn more about breastfeeding are being invited to attend an event at Warrington on Monday.
“Breastmilk – It’s Amazing” is run by Cheshire and Merseyside public health collaborative.
From 10am until 2pm there will be an event at the Cockhedge Centre where breastfeeding teams, local public health improvement staff and peer support groups will be on hand to chat to women about any issues and sign post to local support.
Cllr Pat Wright, Warrington Borough Council’s lead member for health, wellbeing and adult services, said: “Improving breastfeeding uptake and continuation rates is a public health priority in Warrington to ensure the best possible start in life for children and young people.
“We are one of nine authorities to be taking part in this regional campaign which aims to highlight the benefits of breastfeeding and give women the opportunity to meet with local experts, ask questions and share their experiences on the many fantastic health benefits for mum and baby.”
