Dance show moves to Parr Hall

WARRINGTON’s biggest dance show is back at the Parr Hall on Sunday March 23, and is once again offering dance groups and artists from across the town to showcase their talent.
Shine! will focus on the theme of contemporary dance, in order to develop and raise the profile of this style to complement the existing platforms throughout the year that cater for a range of different styles.
In response to high demand of dancers wanting to take part and a growing audience, Shine! will move to Parr Hall. The venue offers the opportunity for groups to peer review work and is an opportunity for dance artists and teachers to network.
The dance show will feature artists who showcase their creativity, strong concepts, original choreography and professional aspirations in creating high quality contemporary dance performed by a range of groups of all abilities from children to adults.
Last year Warrington saw increased participation in contemporary dance activity through the Window On Warrington project, with a wide variety of groups taking part and for some, performing in a style that they may not usually practice. This was a huge success and Shine! offers a platform to build on the exceptional talent in Warrington and continue to develop contemporary dance within the borough.
Janey Moran, cultural engagement manager at Culture Warrington said: “It’s great to see such a high standard of dance being created by groups from across Warrington.
“I’m excited to see how the groups have responded to this year’s theme of contemporary dance which is informed by and borrows from many other dance styles due to its emergence amongst trained dancers. Shine! has grown year on year and we are pleased to be hosting it at Parr Hall this year, which reflects the growing audience and demand for this performance platform.”
Shine! Sunday March 23, 4pm, Tickets £5 / £3.50. For information call 01925 442345 or visit www.pyramidparrhall.com
