Fly tippers fined for waste at recycling site

THE council is reminding residents to dispose of their waste properly at recycling sites or risk a fine for fly tipping.
Three residents have recently been fined for disposing of their waste illegally at a council recycling site in the car park of the Jolly Falstaff pub, Padgate.
The waste was found dumped on the ground next to the recycling site. Evidence was found on the dumped waste and as a result the council took enforcement action against the fly tippers.
A council spokesperson said: “Recycling sites are for household waste only, however residents are also reminded to use the sites responsibly and not to leave items on the ground. Recycling sites are checked regularly and any incident of fly tipping is investigated. We would encourage residents to contact the council and speak to the recycling team for help and advice if they are unsure of how to dispose of their waste.”
