A PUBLIC consultation exercise will start tomorrow (Thursday) into the future of Warrington’s Cultural Quarter and the area around Palmyra Square.
The borough council wants to hear the views of residents and businesses regarding the pedestrian areas and traffic flow around the area now and how they might be improved in the future.
Cllr Linda Dirir, the borough council’s lead member for highways, transportation and climate change, said: “This consultation is a great opportunity for businesses and members of the public to have their say on how effectively they feel that the area currently works in terms of traffic flow.
“We want to hear your concerns and suggestions as pedestrians or road users. I would encourage everyone to let us know their thoughts and have their say. Your feedback is invaluable and can guide us to create a new plan for the area that will best suit the needs of all.”
The consultation will run until April 10.
As part of it, there will be an information stand in Golden Square shopping centre on Saturday March 22 between 9am and 5pm, and public events taking place at the Gateway on Sankey Street on Wednesday March 26 between 11am and 2pm and 5pm and 8pm.
Leaflets will shortly be distributed to all households and businesses in the Cultural Quarter inviting them to have their say.
They will also contain a comments form that can be completed and returned.
