Fridge fault starts shop blaze

A FAULT on a refrigerator unit is believed to have started a fire at a shop at Westy, Warrington.
The blaze was at a shop in Bridgewater Avenue and fire crews wearing breathing apparatus to tackle the flames using a hose reel jet and covering water jet.
In another incident, firefighters were sent to Wigshaw Lane, Croft after a car left the road and collided with a house. No-one was trapped but paramedics attended to treat minor injuries.
Crews helped to make the building safe.
