Former member returns to council

FORMER councillor Helena Campbell has been co-opted onto Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council.
She was unanimously appointed by members of the council to represent Culcheth Ward, following the resignation of Cllr Lilian Houghton, who has had to stand down due to ill health.
Tributes were paid to Lilian, who had served on the council for many years and twice served as chairman.
She worked on the planning, land and environment and law and order committees.
Cllr Keith Bland said : “Lilian has worked very hard for the community she loves. She will be missed and we would like to pass on our good wishes and that she gets well soon.
Cllr Bland also welcomed Helena back on the team.
She joins joins her husband, Paul Campbell, who is also a Culcheth ward councillor.
Helena said: “Having worked and lived in Culcheth for over 30 years I am in daily contact with the residents and understand deeply the issues that really affect them. I am looking forward to working with a great team of councillors to ensure the experience of living in the parish council area is happy, safe and enjoyable for everyone.”
