Fastest growing companies praised

A WARRINGTON based company has topped a list of the fastest growing businesses with a registered office in the North West.
Secured Express, which trades as Secured Mail, has shown an average annual growth of 260 per cent in the last year.
Warrington leads the Top 30 list with five high growth businesses included, compared with Liverpool’s four and Manchester’s three.
Other Warrington based businesses listed are App Sense, Fircroft Engineering Services, IESA and BetFred.
Secured Express, based in Winwick, is a mail handling business. Its clients include Amazon, Centrica and Domino’s Pizza.
The survey was published by North West Business Insider and sponsored by accountants Mazars LLP.
These statistics follow in the wake of Centre for Cities publication last month of its annual health check of UK cities, Cities Outlook 2014.
The Centre for Cities report demonstrates that Warrington is one of only a few “cities” that continue to improve, setting the pace for the North West region and outstripping most of the UK.
In the report, Warrington has jumped from overall 54th place in 2008-09 to 10th.
The ranking is based on how Warrington has performed against the number of claimants to estimated changes in jobs, work-place weekly wages, the size of the business base and house values.
Warrington had a consistent presence in the Top 10 for all measured criteria.
Cllr Terry O’Neill, leader Warrington Borough Council said: “Congratulations to Secured Express and indeed to all of the Warrington businesses in the list. This list is yet another indicator of our economic might.
“Warrington is in an enviable position of economic strength but it is vital that as a local authority we continue to help grow the economy, helping our local businesses grow and so creating jobs for local
People and offering some defence against the drastic cuts that central government are forcing us to make in our revenue budget.
“Our framework, ‘Warrington Means Business’, is a programme designed to protect, develop and grow our economy and create employment for local people now and into the future”.
Steve Park, managing director, Warrington & Co., Warrington’s partnership for driving growth said: “A new set of independent statistics appear almost each week reaffirming Warrington’s regional and national status as a leading location for business growth.
“It is great to see five Warrington businesses in the top 30. Congratulations to them all.
“Clearly Warrington is a premier location for business to flourish, reaffirmed by the recent Cabinet Office stats declaring Warrington a business start-up hotspot, and Warrington & Co. is working hard to keep it that way”.
