Drugs service receives top marks

THE drug treatment service commissioned by Warrington Borough Council has received full marks from the Care Quality Commission following a snap inspection.
The service’s staff were “positive, upbeat and very well motivated” said the CQC’s inspection report, and users of the service spoke very highly of the treatment they were given and of the standard of care provided by staff.
Warrington Pathways to Recovery, which is part of charity Crime Reduction Initiatives (CRI), is a service commissioned by the council to provide assessment, treatment and support for people experiencing problems with drugs.
The CQC, which inspects hospitals, care homes, GPs and dentists to ensure they meet national standards of performance, conducted an unannounced inspection at the Warrington Pathways headquarters on Bold Street last month to assess CRI for a range of key areas CRI met the requisite standard in all areas.
CQC inspectors received very positive feedback from users of the service. According to their report, the people helped by Warrington Pathways made such comments as:
*”Can’t fault the service I am clean and will not go back now, I have a new life.”
*”I was at rock bottom when I turned up here and didn’t know which way to turn. The staff were there for me.”
*“My life has been turned around I have learnt so much from the service.”
*“Staff are brilliant and non-judgemental. I have had help with all aspects of my life from personal issues to housing problems.”
Cllr Pat Wright (pictured), the borough council’s lead member for health and welcoming said: “This is a glowing report from the Care Quality Commission. Our colleagues at CRI have every reason to feel proud of themselves, and the council and residents can be reassured that people in Warrington experiencing drugs problems have got top-quality support with turning their lives around.”
