Motorist in hospital after crash

A MOTORIST was taken to hospital at Warrington this morning after being involved in a two-vehicle crash.
The collision was on Daten Avenue, Birchwood and involved a car and an articulated lorry.
Firefighters administered oxygen to the casualty prior to the arrival of an ambulance.
Earlier, there was a crash involing a saloon car on the M62 eastbound carriageway between Junctions 11 and 12. Two people were trapped in the car and were released by fire crews from Warrington and Birchwood.
All three lanes of the motorway were closed while crews removed the roof of the car to extricate the casualties who were then taken to hospital by ambulance.
