Billy Ocean returning to Warrington

AFTER last year’s sell-out show, Billy Ocean is returning to the Parr Hall again on Friday May 23.
If you missed the British king of soul when he sold out Parr Hall in 2013 then now’s your chance to see his brand-new show with all the hits including When The Going Gets Tough and Caribbean Queen.
Billy, who has sold over 30 million records in his lifetime, has collected a pile of Gold and Platinum records across the world and hit the number one spot worldwide in pop charts in the USA, Australia, Germany, Holland, and the UK.
Born in Trinidad, Billy settled in London’s East End when he was just seven years old. The calypso crazy kid soon got turned on to soul singers like Otis Redding and Sam Cooke, as well as pop groups like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, leading him to spend much of his study time in the music room.
After success on both sides of the Atlantic in the 1960s and 70s with smash-hit singles including Love Really Hurts Without You and Red Light Spells Danger and a double platinum album, Billy, who is the biggest selling black recording artist the UK has ever produced, decided to take a break from music to spend time with his young family.
But in 2007, with the kids all grown up, he went back out to perform his hits again, this time with his daughter Cherie on backing vocals, with live dates in the UK and Europe, USA, Canada, and the Caribbean. The tour was a great success and culminated in him getting the bug once more for writing and recording. 2008 saw Billy back in the studio for the first time in 15 years, recording his brand new album Because I Love You – which was released in 2009. 2010 saw the release of The Very Best of Billy Ocean, which sold 72,000 copies in 4 weeks.
Now he’s well back into the swing of performing live and is entertaining audiences across the globe.
Tickets are priced at £20 and go on sale at 9am on Monday 17 February.
