A TOTAL of 850 people attended a jobs fair hosted by Warrington South MP David Mowat.
More than 40 employers were on hand to offer vacancies and apprenticeships – and provisional feedback from the companies who attended suggested that the event had produced over 300 follow-up conversations between employers and potential employees.
The event was sponsored by Ombudsman Services and Sellafield Ltd.
Afterwards, Mr Mowat said: “I’m delighted by the success of the jobs fair. The feedback from the employers was that they were highly impressed with the quality and the enthusiasm of those who attended.
“The numbers of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance has been falling steadily in recent months and I hope that this will put a further dent in the figures.”
