WARRINGTON will be going auction-crazy on Saturday, February 8, when local award winning and community-focused company BiG Storage hold a charity ‘Storage Hunters’ event at their Warrington branch.
The event, which will see proceeds go to an appeal to help Great Sankey teenager Georgia Rankin (pictured right) – who suffers from Skeletal Dysplasia – will provide a chance for the public to view various storage units from outside for a period of 30 seconds before bidding on the rooms which will feature lots of mystery items, gets underway at BiG Storage in what is the first event of its kind in the area.
Support has already been received from overseas, with Storage Hunters USA bidders-turned-celebrities Jessie McClure and Lori Bernier throwing their weight behind BiG Storage’s novel way of raising funds for Georgia.
Jesse, tweeted “Awesome of you guys to do this, I’d love to plan an event with you!” with Lori also planning to send a video message for those attending the event on the day.
BiG Storage Managing Director, Kevin Murphy, is also looking forward to the event, said: “It’s a great chance for us to help raise money for Georgia’s appeal and hopefully take some of her pain away and maybe help give her a chance to stand or even walk. It’s also great that we can share the ‘Storage Hunters’ experience with the public for the first time in Warrington, and I’m sure that there will be plenty of bidding going on!”
Around 100 people are expected at the Manchester Road branch in Woolston, with lots of attractions going on during the day which includes a tour of BiG Storage, a bouncy castle for children, and also Warrington Wolves mascot Wolfie will also be along to provide entertainment too!
