22 children find new families

ADOPTERS in Cheshire have been praised for giving 22 children, including five in Warrington, an opportunity to face the future as part of a new family.
Figures from Adoption Matters North West (AMNW) show that 34 per cent of the agency’s placements over the last 12 months were with Cheshire families.
However, there is still a shortfall of more than 2,700 families and individuals in the UK who are willing and able to open their hearts and homes to a child in need.
AMNW chief executive Norman Goodwin said: “There’s still a growing need for adopters to come forward and help shape the future of one or more of these children. We’re hoping that 2014 will see more couples and individuals think about adoption, find out more about what’s involved and go on to become successful, fulfilled adopters.”
The agency, which regularly completes the adoption process within seven months and has one of the lowest placement disruption rates in the UK, welcomes applications from single people and couples from every age group and walk of life.
