POLICE are appealing for information following a robbery at a shop in Warrington.
At 7.35pm last night (Monday 20 January) two men entered the Co-Op in Mercer Road, Burtonwood, approached the till and threatened staff with a screwdriver.
They demanded the contents of the till and fled the scene with a quantity of cash. During the robbery a third man was keeping guard outside the entrance to the shop.
The pair got into a white Nissan Qashqai parked on Acton Road and drove off along Clay Lane towards the motorway.
The first offender is described as white, around 5? 5″ tall, of slim build and spoke with a St Helens accent. He was wearing a black scarf, which was covering his face, leather gloves, a khaki waxed jacket and a white hooded top.
The second offender is described as white, around 5? 6″ to 5? 7″ tall, of medium build, aged 20-30-years-old and was wearing a blue waxed jacket and black trousers.
There is no description of the third offender.
Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened or has seen anything significant or anyone acting suspiciously to come forward.
