WARRINGTON Town’s much anticipated top of the table clash at Curzon Ashton has been called off just three hours before kick off.
The game was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
The last time the two teams met the game was postponed after 29 minutes due to floodlight failure at the HG Driver Recruitment Stadium, with Warrington cruising 2-0 up.
The two teams currently occupy the top two spots in the Evo-Stik Division One North, with Curzon two points clear and with two games in hand – but the teams still have to face each other home and away.
Meanwhile Warrington have received a double boost.
Keeper Josh Ollerenshaw who has impressed between the sticks since joining on loan from Fleetwood Town last month, has signed an extension for the rest of the season – and been joined by fellow Fleetwood youngster Andrew Wright.
Wright, aged 19, was voted Young Player of the Year at Fleetwood last year and trained with the League Two first team squad during the
summer.
The holding midfielder has signed on loan until the end of the season.
Meanwhile Warrington have released midfielders Peter Dogan and Phil Mooney, who made a scoring debut at Cammell Laird at the weekend, while full-back Michael Kennedy has gone on loan to Prescot Cables.

Pictures show Scott Metcalfe heading home against his former club the last time the two teams met when the lights went out in front of a large crowd.
