Business hub will create 100 jobs

A 50,000 sq foot business incubator hub providing 100 new jobs is planned as the first step of Warrington’s £190 million Stadium Quarter redevelopment.
Plans for the five-storey building, which would house offices and research and development space, have been submitted to the borough council.
The building would have a café on the ground floor and would provide 53,000 sq ft of offices and research facilities on the site of the former Dallam Centre.
It was last March that the council approved an outline proposal for the scheme which will link the bus interchange with Warrington Wolves’ stadium.
Developers believe the scheme will provide a number of economic benefits, including the new jobs, many of which will be targeted at individuals with entrepreneurial aspirations.
The type of jobs involved is seen as of special importance as they will help keep talented, educated people within Warrington.
Steve Park, managing director of Warrington & Co. the town’s partnership for economic growth said: “Warrington Borough Council is actively pursuing funding options to build a business incubator unit in the town. This is a part of our growth agenda as set out in our framework document Warrington Means Business.
“The planning application is to ensure that we have a location ready for development as and when we obtain grant funding. We hope to have some positive announcements to make in this regard early in the New Year.”
