Tenants rewarded for clear rent account

TEN lucky tenants living with social landlord Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT) were presented with a range of great prizes this week.
The tenants were drawn at random having kept a clear rent account between October and December last year.
All of the Trust’s tenants who kept a clear account during this period were automatically entered into the prize draw to win a cash prize and one of 10 Acer Tablet PCs. The tablet prizes are part of GGHT’s commitment to helping its customers to get online. This will see the Trust rolling out free Wi-Fi access in Longford in 2014 as well as providing free access to computers in Bewsey Community Park Centre and its new Head Office when it opens this spring.
The lucky winners included Mr Day from Orford, Warrington. He commented: “This is the first time I’ve ever won a prize in a competition. Thank you so much to GGHT!”
Roy Smith, Chair of Golden Gates Housing Trust, said: “It is great to have been able to give these prizes to some of our tenants. We recognise the difficulties that many of our customers are having at present with changes linked to the Government’s Welfare Reforms but we are determined to do all we can to help them manage their finances and maintain their tenancies.
“While each year we see a number of tenants get into difficulty with their rents, the vast majority continue to pay on time every month and competitions like this are a great way to recognise their efforts.”
GGHT tenants who are struggling to pay their rent are encouraged to call the Trust for information and advice free on 0800 25 26 27.

  1. Really???? I never knew that Nick; thank you for pointing that out….. … Now I may own my house but I will have paid out far more per month in mortgage payments than a tenant for GGHT…. also, when I get old and senile and dribbly and have to be put into a home, my hard worked for house gets sold to pay for it. GGHT tenant gets that treatment for nowt…..now explain why someone should get a prize for paying their rent for three months….
